Ontario premier’s trade missions to China

November 2014

Ontario is Canada’s largest province, accounting for around 40% of the national economy. If a country, Ontario would be the world’s twentieth largest economy, with GDP of over 690 billion dollars in 2013. China is Ontario’s second largest trading partner, with 36.4 billion dollars in two-way trade in 2014.

In the period 2003-2014, Ontario Premiers visited China six times, leading trade missions on five of those visits with well over 2 billion dollars in total deals signed.

Each time, Sinophone has been honoured to provide a full suite of interpretation services for the premiers, ministers, and participating Ontario companies throughout their programs in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chongqing, and Chengdu.

Sinophone is proud to have played a role in the success of the Ontario-China relationship for close to a decade, and counting.
